    Fabulous

The staff were extremely helpful; and changed my room for me when I requested a bath rather than shower only. The room was clean and comfortable and reasonably proportioned. Although breakfast was quite expensive at 13.95 I was informed by reception that purchasing tokens the night before significantly reduced the cost; as did booking the bed and breakfast option rather than room only. Similarly internet access was pricey at £5 an hour, but reduced significantly if the 24 hour for £8 option was chosen. The location is really only suitable for car users.

    Fabulous

We stayed for one night and the staff were friendly and the room spotlessly clean. Having Sky Sports on the tv was an unexpected bonus. There was no noise, despite being at the front of the hotel and near a very busy road. The location was great - just off the moterway and would be ideal for anyone looking to play golf at Celtic Manor. It was only a £7 taxi ride to Newport train station and cost only £3 for a return ticket to Cardiff. Overall a very enjoyable experience (just a pity we lost in the Heineken Cup final!)

    Fabulous

We enjoyed our one night stay, very comfortable and good sized room, excellent breakfast, staff very helpful and pleasant. Close to many attractions of South Wales with not too far to travel to the principality of Cardiff and its big city attractions as well as being close to lots of the heritage sights of South Wales. East to find as quite close to the m4 but set in its own gardens. Small pool was lovely although lack of individual changing rooms a bit of a put off - but great for an early morning dip. Very relaxing comfortable and welcoming hotel. Would stay there again - good business facilities too with wi fi keyboard for tv in rooms as well.

    Very good breakfast.

Very expensive for a hotel 10km away from the city center.

Very close to eventual conference locatgion at Celtic Manor

Heating in room did not work as no batteries in remote control unit.

The £8.00 fee for broadband is unfair it is simply a hidden charge.

    Superb

We stayed in an exceutive room-paceful, quiet overlooking lawned area of hotel grounds. Room facilities were very good

    Very good

comfortable - central to where wanted to be.

Didnt like the person mowing the lawn or whatever it was they were doing at 07.30 on a sunday morning !!

    Very good

Wine "by the glass" was shockingly poor. Food generally was lovely, room was also lovely. Service at breakfast on the Friday morning was dreadful. Lady was acting as if the tea wss rationed, also she was constantly moaning to myself and another member of staff about how overworked she was and how bad the hotel was. Complete contrast to the Saturday morning.

    Exceptional

Better value than Premier Inn with a nice sized bar area.

    Exceptional

All the staff that we dealt with were extremely kind and helpful. I would especially like to mention the staff who served us breakfast on the Sunday (1 Jul), nothing was to much trouble and they went out of their way to help us.

It was easy to find and car parking was excellent.

The food was awful. the "gourmet" resurant was no better than a carvery and the bar menu was transport cafe at best. I chose Fish and chips which arrived both burned and cold. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet but again was cold, coffee was very weak and at 7.45 many of the items were already finished.

great location for what was needed. room clean and pleasant.

the food available in the restaurant was appalling. would choose to go elswhere to dine in the future.
